2009 DRX 90 Etreme Trail Machine!
This is the ultimate 90 trail machine!  We built this specifically for destroying trails!
Our sole goal was to make this little machine keep up with mom and dads
machine on the trails and live to play another day!!!

The Build!

We started with a stock 2009 DRX 90.  First, the motor was basically kept stock.
Some minor motor porting and head work was done just to add a little more
punch for the larger tires and for the satisfaction of my son, Kevin.  (I know how
aggressive a rider he is)  A clutch kit was specifically set-up for this type of riding.
Oil injection was removed also.

Stock frame with the improved square tube swingarm was used with stock
shocks.  XFR Nerfbars were also used but we trimmed some stock floorboards to
give us some added protection from the mud and water.  We added a XFR Skid
Plate to protect the bottom of the frame.  Also added was a heavy duty chain
tensioner and some lower gears for rock crawling!

We wanted the most clearance we could get so that meant big tires.  We
increased the size of the fronts and changed to an aggressive rear mud tire.

All in all, in preliminary tests the beast was ready to tackle the trails.  Running
almost the same tires as my LTR 450 and close to 50 MPH top speed!

Update:

The beast has been running awsome!  We decided to keep the DRR stock high
rise intake and slapped on a Uni Air filter and an Outwears cover for protection.
Have dropped back to a 24mm carb for added bottom end.  The quad has not
failed once!

For fun we decided to build the motor to a 103cc big bore.  This thing pulls!!  It will
still pull 45mph on a flat with the low gearing!

This has been an awsome machine!
